Hola. I am in Israel now. Wow. So I told you in my first entry I would do three preliminary blogs. I lied. I am going to tell you about myself and my beliefs in this entry and then about Dream Theater in my next entry. So, who am I? Well, I am Aaron Gaglia. I am a sophomore in College at The Master’s College and am studying abroad in Israel for a semester. I was born and raised in Southern California. Currently my family lives in Yucaipa in the Inland Empire. It is pretty legit out there. I am a Christian. My theological beliefs lean towards Conservative and Reformed. I love God and seek to please him with my life and I rely on the subsitutionary death of Jesus Christ alone for my salvation. I believe Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners. All must repent and believe in the Gospel. There are eternal consequences for sin because God is holy and just (He is perfect, unchangeable, infinite, all-loving, all-powerful, and all-knowing among other attributes as well), and a holy and just God must punish sin. The only way to escape hell is to turn from you sin and turn to God, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation (By the way, Jesus is God). I love studying theology and I hope to be a pastor someday. I see myself working in a big city with ministry focused on reaching either inner-city kids or homosexuals. I play the keyboard and love listening to music. I love Progressive Metal and some Progressive Rock. My favorite band is Dream Theater. I also love Redemption, Evergrey, Porcupine Tree, Rush, and Marillion to name a few. I don’t see secular music in general to be incompatible with Christianity (though there is some music that isn't a good idea to listen to). I think a Christian can benefit much from listening to secular music through enjoying awesome talent, and interacting with truth and error. Also, it is way better than Christian music (Though there is some awesome Christian music. Check out Theocracy, for example). Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention. I am kind of tall and skinny. I am 6’ 7” and about 180 lbs. I have hair a little past my ears now but hope to have it halfway down my back in no time. Take that. I hope you feel enlightened now that you know a little aboutme. Stay tuned to learn about the best band over. Keep it real.

hahaha, "it's pretty legit out there..."
ReplyDeletedo you really need to clarify "christian" with "reformed" ? seems a little redundant to me, lol
" I believe Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners". nice. l.a.
i have to say though, one thing i would add to your Gospel presentation is that God is eternally perfect, sinless, and Holy, and that His perfection is what makes it necessary for people to repent, or else suffer Hell...
Hi AAron!
ReplyDeleteI am excited about your blog and hearing about your Israeli adventure.
Love you to pieces,
Aunt Eve
P.S. I will be skipping the Dream Theatre part, don't hold it against me.
xxoo from Maryland
Well, Theodore, you know I think that a Christian does not necessarily have to be a Calvinist. Thanks for the advice on the Gospel presentation. I made a change to the blog. Hi Aunt Eve. Lol the Dream Theater will be mixed in but it will be about me so I think you will enjoy it.
